Hours of Operation

Gillette Sand Dune Visitor Center hours vary seasonally. Please make sure to review our hours before planning a visit.

January 2 – Memorial Day: Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Memorial Day – Labor Day: Daily 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Labor Day – November 14: Friday, Saturday 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.

November 15 through December 31: CLOSED

Directions

The Gillette Sand Dune Visitor Center is located in P.J. Hoffmaster State Park at 6585 Lake Harbor Rd. Muskegon, MI 49441.

From Grand Rapids &
Gerald R. Ford Airport (GRR)

Just 45 – 1 hour minutes West of Grand Rapids and GRR Airport, Gillette Sand Dune Visitor Center and trails make for the perfect day trip getaway from the city. Take 1-96 W and Exit 4 toward Farr Road. Then take Airline Road to E Pontaluna Rd.

From Holland

Looking to explore a new beach? P.J. Hoffmaster is a 45 minute drive from Holland. Take US-31 N and Exit 107 for Pontaluna Rd toward Fruitport.

Parking

Parking is available at the Gillette Sand Dune Visitor Center. All guests must have a Michigan Recreation Passport to park at the Visitor Center or at the beach day-use parking lots. Non-residents can purchase a Non-Resident Recreation Passport at any state park or recreation area or online.
