Who We Are

Since 1977, the Gillette Nature Association has been dedicated to inspiring a love for nature and fostering environmental education. Park Naturalist Sandy McBeath founded the association with a vision to support interpretive programs and outdoor learning at the Visitor Center and P.J. Hoffmaster State Park. Through sustainable funding and community support, we continue to connect people of all ages to the natural world.

Nestled within the world’s largest freshwater coastal dune ecosystem, we are committed to protecting and sharing this remarkable landscape. From the wooded backdunes to the grassy foredunes and sandy beaches, our programs provide hands-on learning experiences, encourage outdoor exploration, and highlight the beauty of P.J. Hoffmaster and the Lake Michigan shoreline. We invite you to join us in our mission to secure these legacies for future generations.
